You may recall that as we neared the year end 2025, we took the decision not to pressurise our members to attend a year end event at a very busy time. It seemed that planning a meeting in the first quarter of 2026, in a less stressful environment, may better suit our members 

As it happens, it turned out to be a fortuitous decision.

A Visit from the Brazilian Surface Treatment Association

Mohseen Hatia, representing Airi Zanini, President of the Brazilian Surface Treatment Association [ABTS], contacted us at the end of October 2025 to advise that they were planning a visit to Cape Town. They expressed a strong interest in meeting with SAMFA representatives during their stay in order to share experiences and explore areas of mutual benefit and potential collaboration.

Following several weeks of discussion and coordination, the itinerary has now been finalised. They will meet with the SAMFA regional management team for formal discussions on Tuesday, 3 March. This meeting will be followed by a special Cape Member Meeting in the afternoon, where Mohseen Hatia and Airi Zanini will join us to deliver the keynote address.

A Change of Venue

We’ve secured a venue that many of you will recognise, as it has served us well in the past. We are aware that the most recent venue did not meet expectations, and after considering the feedback from our members, we chose to take things a step up—especially as we have the honour of hosting our visitors from Brazil.

We urge all members to show strong support for your association, our distinguished guest presenters, and the dedicated team who made this programme possible. Your participation is the driving force behind every successful event.
